The game is a sequel to Mafia II, and is made by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. Mafia III was rebranded as Mafia III: Definitive Edition on May 19, 2020 on Steam, granting all previously available DLC. No difference except for the fact that Definitive might fuck up the entire game's graphics and give it a ton of bugs. Gotcha. Hangar 13 back at it again 🙃. It does differ pretty substantially. Spoilers abound: -If you leave, Lincoln basically disappears, moving from city to city and eventually returning (allegedly) to a life of crime working under a colombian gang or somesuch. Whichever of your underbosses is most powerful ends up ruling the city.
Mafia DE is a full blown remake. Completely remade (obviously) from the ground up. Same story and characters, etc. as the original Mafia 1 - but in a brand new engine with brand new gameplay, graphics, voice acting, etc. And yes it is worth it. 100%. Mafia 2 DE is a remaster.
