You have to earn both experience in the correct game section AND earn the appropriate number of mastery points from the correct game section. Select a mastery and when you have both maxed out the experience and obtained the mastery points required you can train the mastery (and thus gain a higher yellow number on your character portrait) and then choose a new one to train.
Core Tyria is second by the number of excess mastery points, 32. There's masteries from personal story, masteries from Fractals, 2 from jumping puzzles, one from killing the karka queen, several side events, I've had a number of people in my guild finish their core Tyria mastery points without buying Season 2. This is due to I believe 2 factors:1.) any previous season after Expansion used the same mastery points as the expansion preceding it, thus both requiring but also expanding upon the mastery points available and starting with a far bigger pool of potential spare points. 2.) previous season masteries were far less comprehensive.

My take on it: When it comes to earning mastery points, just remember that Icebrood Saga and Irritable Bowel Syndrome have the initials for a reason. Aragorn2013 • 1 mo. ago. Core Tyria is second by the number of excess mastery points, 34. (First being HoT with 54 excess mastery points) 3rd EoD 26 excess. 4th PoF 20 excess. Welcome to Guild Wars 2, 1) If you do not want to backtrack, do everything 100%. 2) When you hit max level, you may want to buy the expansions, you can get the seasons by converting gold to gems. Or you can buy the full package that also contains the seasons. Personal advice:
On the skill bar they appear in the Mastery Skill menu, accessed through a small icon with an arrow below the weapon swap button. One of the mastery skills can be selected as a default and then activated by left-clicking the menu icon or by using the "Activate Mastery Skill" keybind (default J). Alternatively, right-clicking the mastery skill
Sounds like you're missing the raid masteries, which are in the Heart of Thorns mastery list once you unlock them. You can unlock these by doing any single Heart of Thorns raid boss (wing 1, 2, 3 or 4) Easiest wings for this imo would be wing 4 (cairn, first boss) or wing 1 (vale guardian, also first boss)You can find a training group through
